089. Flow Of Life
Finally, seated.
It’s still light out, so there is still enough day left to say that this entry of the Full Send, like the last 2, will also be made in the light of day. It feels like such a relief to be able to carve out a moment where I can allow my thoughts to be.
The day has not gone the way I imagined, and I am beginning to wonder if there will ever be a day when I can say the day went exactly as I imagined.
I am trying to learn to trust the flow of life.
From what I have gathered thus far, it seems as though the first step is acceptance. Allowing yourself to be present in the moment, knowing that this is the only place in time and space from where you experience existence. Any stories of past or future, are simply that, stories. We only ever are, where we are. Though, we spend most of our time hopeful about the future, all while anchoring ourselves in the nostalgia of the past.
My day did not go as I intended but it was far better than I could have expected.
I never understood why Maths got such a bad rep. It was among the few, if not the only class where there was a clear right or wrong. I suppose in language, it would be wrong to have a full-stop in the middle of a sentence; but there remain a million ways in which a sentence could be constructed, and not all of them may be appropriate for whatever rhyme or reason. However, it maths, before it gets all imaginative, you have right and wrong. You have formulas and methods. For whatever equation, if you put it through whatever formula, you will find yourself a right or a wrong. With of which show progress in learning, or room for improvement.
That room for improvement, I think that may be where most of get stuck. All the wrong. The distance between what you don’t know and what you wish to know. In maths class, the method was simple; you work the problem again and again until you closed the gap between what you knew and what you didn’t. In the end, you find yourself the same answer, that everyone else who worked on the same problem found. However, until you do, you live again and again in that problem, trying to find a way out.
From this, a parallel can be drawn to life. However, in life, the solution at the end, is not the same for everyone, even to the same problem. Lessons can be learnt from those with similar problems who have navigated similar paths, however, the journeys we walk in this life are unique to us, and trialling the same formulas does not ways yield the same results. And even in your own life, to your own problems, the formula that worked yesterday might not work today. However, that does not mean your right answer will not be found. Sometimes it means that what you may believe to be a wrong answer today, is only a part of a much larger right.
That’s where this whole this trust thing comes to test. Will your efforts today lead to the future you hope? Are you where you are supposed be, doing what you are supposed to be doing? As it stands, the only thing that exists between you and wherever you are pulling yourself towards, is the trust that in time, you will get there. It’s interesting, but, you are only ever walk the path right in front of you. Even if you could fly, you could only move through the space in front of you to reach your aspired destination. Until teleportation avails itself to you, steps will always be taken one after another, in that order, from where you stand now, to where you want to be.
Life is full of wonder. One of life’s joys is learning the avenues through which possibilities can be realised by focusing your attention, trusting you are where you are supposed to be and allowing time to reveal the rest.
Dear reader, the sun is gone now, but I’ll still call this a daytime entry. Tomorrow is the Final Send. I’m not sure I know how to feel about that. Perhaps I may throw a little get together. Until then, I hope you are well, and allowing yourself to be here, the only place you will ever be.
